Across the Fence is the first book of the middle grade reader series, Between the Ears. The series follows Panther, a mustang- quarter horse filly, as she goes from herd-less in the wild to living in stables and competing with her trusted rider.

Stevie Lou writes Creative Nonfiction short pieces about her many adventures. These are geared toward young adult readers. Some of her stories are published on her Blog, Shell Sees Seashells. Others are still in the works.

Shell Sees Seashells currently hosts her Ecuador Stories. A series of posts about her time radio tracking Andean bears in Ecuador and a short trip to the Galápagos. Solo travel, field work, tough lessons, and adventure are a few of the themes addressed.
